These bulbs are a great thing to have around the house. Especially during storms. They require 4 AA batteries. They do not get hot to the touch. You can stick them anywhere. Even after you choose a place to sick the bulb, you can still lift the bulb from it's holder and travel with it as needed. They provide much more light than a flashlight or candle. Absolutely wonderful when the power goes out. Also wonderful in places that do not have light, such as a small closet. I've purchased quite a few and have given them to family members who love the bulbs as well.

I bought 2 packets and none of them worked. Had to return them. Don't buy!

A Light in the Dark
I bought these about three months ago. One is in my pantry and the other a closet of cleaning supplies. They work great for general lighting and I love being able to hold the bulb part if needed to search any dark corners. Great value, I only hope they last a long time as they do not use traditional light bulbs so when bulb goes base will be useless.

Perfect for what I need it for
After losing power for 7 days from Hurricane Sandy I decided to keep a set of these in my house "just in case". I have not used them for a prolonged use so I don't know how long the battery actually lasts. The idea is great! It can be carried, without becoming hot. It has a pull cord. You can attach the base anywhere and the light slips right out for portability. Not going to be left in the dark during another power outage.
