Better Than You Think
You'd think that you wouldn't use something like this very often, but you'd be wrong. I use these quite a bit. I even use them to make dessert bowls. For Taco Salad Bowls, they are the bomb. They/re great. It's best to put your tortilla (flour, whole wheat or flavored# inside the bowl #don't use cooking spray-it won't work as well# Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or so #depending on your oven) I like mine Extra Crispy, while others in the house like theirs a little less crispy. You can also turn the bowl over and put your tortilla on the outside of the bowl. It gives you a little bigger diameter for the inside of your finished salad bowl.
I wash them by themselves only. You only need use these a few times, for them to pay for theirselves. I originally purhased these for my diet, because they can be made with no fat. The premade taco bowls you purchase in the stores are loaded with fat. You can also use taco sized tortollas, they just make a smaller salad bowl.
Here's another great thing I've found. Go ahead and fix your tortillas in the bowls, like you're going to make the taco bowls. When they are crispy, remove them and breat them into chip sized pieces. They make fantastic baked tortilla chps-without the fat. For some reason these come out so much better and uniform with these bowls, than when you just tear up tortilla and lay them flat on baking sheets to make chips. I love making the flavored tortillas into chips too. yummy!!!
