Heavy Gauge steel?
The pot is very light. As the adage goes, you do get what you pay for. Boscov usually has good prices. This pot is priced $10 lower than the recent sale price of that department store famous for its Thanksgiving parades. Have not owned it long enough to comment on its durability. Mirror finish looks good. Lid is not as tightly fitting as I desire. Pot slopes down so the top is wider than the bottom. That means the heat source contact surface is smaller. It is a multi-purpose pot. If you use it to pan fry, the smaller surface limits the amount of food you can cook at one time. Despite some of these issues, I would still recommend buying the pot because of the attractive price and look.

Great pot at a great price
I love to make soup and this pot is perfect for that purpose. Before I bought the pot, I read another review that mentioned the finish of the pot was altered after using. The reviewer mentioned that she used the product, "Bar Keepers Friend" to restore the finish, so I bought Bar Keepers Friend too. Sure enough, after using the pot, the finish inside at the bottom was stained and didn't clean up well when washed with dish soap and a scrubber sponge. I used the Bar Keepers Friend and the finish was restored perfectly. Glad I got the Bar Keepers Friend tip from another reviewer of this pot on Boscov's site.

Fast Cooking, light wight...
I love this pot.. it cooks much faster then my beloved Tfel... and it's lighter in weight then anyother pots I own.. the only downside is.. you can't get the stains out of the bottom of the inside of the pot.. I have used very gental dish sope.. but not luck.. other then that.. I love this pot!! Use it just about every day..

Great pot at twice the price
I have a glass cook top, and it takes forever to bring water to a boil. But not with this pot....it is heaven sent. conducts heat well and cleans like a breeze.
