Great gift!
I bought this for a little girl that loves bugs. This is a great interactive gift that might help to steer her into a career where she can enjoy her passion for little bug critters. I never expected that it would come with the ants as I know she will have great fun gathering them herself. It is a quality made product with clear directions on how to maintain it.

Misleading...
I bought this for my son for a Christmas present. He is into science and animals/insects so I knew it would be a hit. There is an *ants not included* disclaimer but it does not say that you have to go out and find the ants yourself and they all need to be from the same family. I was under the assumption that you could order the ants from thier company and start your habitat anytime of year. Now my son has to wait until June. I am sure it will be cool once it starts, as long as we can find 20 ants from the same family (we don't have many ants around our place, Orkin sees to that). So, it sits in a drawer. Unless you live where it is warm all year, i would pass on this gift except for summer months.
