I bought 2 at the same time because of the great price.
It is like ALL French presses I've used or owned in that you DO get fines (coffee grains in your coffee cup). I just follow by filtering through a cone filter.
The glass beaker is very light weight and the pouring handle is awesome. It doesn't dribble or leak when pouring, so it is very neat. Much improved over the Mason jar I used to use for my "cowboy" style coffee.
On the neatness note, it is also very easy to clean.
On both I ordered, the glass has bubbles in the glass (slight imperfections when manufactured). The bubbles haven't yet caused any problems like cracks or holes.
I use it twice a day.
