It's back to the classroom for people of all ages!  Boscov's invites you to come back to the classroom for the Winter session of our Campus of Courses!  Check over the courses listed, select the ones you like, then register as soon as possible.  Payment is required at the time of registration and may be made in cash, check or with a Boscov's Credit Card only.  Registrations by phone will be taken only for those who are using a Boscov's Credit Card or registering for a FREE class.  Registration for the classes will also be taken at the Courtesy Desk or by mail.  Register early-- classes are limited in size!  Any class that indicates payable to the instructor must be paid in cash or check directly to the instructor at the start of the first class.  Registration fee covers instructor's fee-- purchase of all supplies is the responsibility of the student.  To register by phone for Pottsville classes, please call (570) 628-5790, ext. 1278 or 1279.

Beginning Sewing

This course focuses on basic techniques such as cutting a pattern and reading the directions, basic stitching and finishing.  In order to get the most out of this class, students will learn how to cut a pattern and sew a simple garment rather than making the traditional pillow or tote bag.  Participants must bring their own sewing machines, and should have selected a pattern in their size marked "VERY EASY.'  NO KNITS.  The fabrics can be calico or solid cotton, but NO STRIPES OR PLAID PLEASE.  Fee of $20 is payable to the instructor per session.

AARP Safe Driving

This course is designed for anyone over 55 years of age who is interested in becoming more aware of changes affecting senior drivers.  The course will provide a certificate that is worth a premium discount on your insurance policy for the next 3 years.  Attendance is required on both of the 2 days.  The class is totally of classroom design with instruction, discussion and self-evaluation.  Topics of interest will be a review of rules-of-the-road, self-evaluation of age-related changes in vision and discussions related to dealing with elder friends, family and others.  The course fee is $14 per person with a $2 discount for AARP members, payable to the instructor at the class.  Must attend both sessions.

Boscov's and the 911 Cell Phone Bank have partnered to promote responsible cell phone recycling and provide emergency communications to those in need. 

Customers who have used cell phones are encouraged to drop them off at the Customer Service desk at any Boscov's location.  Collected cell phones will be sent to the 911 Cell Phone Bank for processing.  In return, the 911 Cell Phone Bank will provide law enforcement in communities served by Boscov's with free emergency cell phones for seniors and victims of abuse.

The 911 Cell Phone bank is an initiative of The Charitable Recycling Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  It was created to provide an ongoing and readily available source of emergency cell phones to meet unexpected and urgent needs of vulnerable residents in communities nationwide.  Since its inception, the 911 Cell Phone Bank has generated more than 80,000 emergency cell phones for victim services organizations nationwide.
